Citynet sells 300 route miles of fiber optic transmission lines to the Zayo Group

Bridgeport, WV: Jim Martin, President/CEO of Bridgeport, WV based Citynet announced today the sale of 300 route miles of fiber optic transmission lines to the Zayo Group based in Louisville, Colorado. These assets include fiber in the communities of: Phoenix, AZ; Cincinnati, OH; Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL; San Antonio, TX, and the tri-cities area in Tennessee.
“This sale is a win-win for both companies. This transaction gives Zayo entrance into new markets while providing Citynet with additional financial resources to be used towards aggressively expanding our core business in the Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets that we currently serve.” said Jim Martin, President/CEO, Citynet.
Frank Boscarillo, COO, Citynet, added “The sale of these non-core business assets represents Citynet’s corporate culture of concentrating on our core business, and our desire of being “The” provider of full service, telecommunications and network support services.”
Recently, Citynet announced the purchase of a new operations center building in downtown Charleston, WV, and the expansion of services in markets in West Virginia and Ohio.
