| Citynet's optical wave provides scalable bandwidth and service reliability with a faster time to market for customers. Optical waves are an alternative to dark fiber. As with all wave services, customers lease individual transparent wavelengths. Optical waves are offered in two product types: 1) unprotected waves, where protection is provided at a different layer; or 2) protected, route diverse, from both an equipment and fiber perspective. The optical wave service takes advantage of DWDM technology. The use of this technology is a benefit in service aggregation, reduced provisioning times, faster access to incremental bandwidth and high availability. Citynet's service offering presently includes 2.5 Gbps and 10 Gbps optical waves into served primary, secondary and tertiary markets. |
