Charleston Daily Mail

A $7 million loan to help Citynet expand its fiber-based telecommunications network received final approval from the West Virginia Economic Development Authority.

The low-interest loan will help Citynet build 130 miles of fiber and interconnect its telecommunications network in the Bridgeport-Clarksburg, Morgantown and Fairmont areas.

Jim Martin, Citynet's president and chief executive officer, has said the first phase of the multiple-phase project is expected to cost $12 million to $15 million and take two years.
