Who Qualifies?
To qualify, a household must be located in Doddridge County and have a student enrolled in Doddridge County Schools. Students who attend Doddridge County Schools but live outside Doddridge County are not eligible.

Yes. Eligible households will receive internet service at no cost during the program period. Professional installation and the equipment needed for service are also included.

What Happens Once the Free Period Expires?
Families will receive information well in advance about the end of the free service period, along with available options for staying connected. Your service will not automatically become a paid Citynet account. A household must choose and authorize a paid service plan before any charges begin.

No. You do not need to be a current Citynet customer to participate. Eligibility is based on the requirements of the Doddridge County Schools Free Internet Project. - What if I already have internet service from another provider?
You may still participate if your household meets the program eligibility requirements. You are responsible for making any changes to your service with your current internet provider. - What if Citynet cannot install service at my address?
Citynet will review service availability for each address. If fiber service is not currently available at your home, you will be contacted with additional information about your eligibility and available options. - What if I rent my home?
You may still participate if your household meets the eligibility requirements. Permission from the property owner or landlord may be required before installation. Citynet will let you know if any additional approval is needed. - What happens if my student changes schools or leaves Doddridge County Schools?
Program eligibility may change if your student is no longer enrolled in Doddridge County Schools. Families should report enrollment changes so they can receive information about available options and any next steps. - What happens if my family moves?
Please contact Citynet before your move or as soon as possible afterward. We will review eligibility and Citynet service availability at your new address. If your household moves outside Doddridge County, it will no longer be eligible for free internet through this program, even if your student continues attending Doddridge County Schools. - Who should I contact if my information changes?
Please contact Citynet if your home address, phone number, email address, student enrollment, or other important information changes during the program. Keeping your information current will help us provide important program and service updates.
SERVICE AND INSTALLATION
- What internet speed will my household receive? Participating households will receive Citynet’s 1 Gig symmetrical internet service, with speeds up to 1,000 Mbps for downloads and 1,000 Mbps for uploads. This provides fast, reliable connectivity for online learning, video calls, streaming, gaming, working from home, and everyday internet use throughout the household.
- Are installation and equipment included? Yes. Standard professional installation and the equipment needed to receive the service are included at no cost during the program period.
- Will I need to sign a contract? No. A contract is not required to participate in the free internet program.
- What equipment will be installed? Citynet will provide and install the equipment needed to deliver internet service and WiFi connectivity in your home. Additional information about the equipment will be provided when your installation is scheduled.
- Will my household receive WiFi? Yes. Citynet-provided equipment will deliver WiFi connectivity in your home. WiFi coverage may vary depending on the home’s size, layout, construction, and other factors.
- Are there data limits? No. Citynet internet service does not have data caps, so your household can use the connection without worrying about monthly data limits or overage charges.
- How soon will my service be installed? Installation timing will depend on eligibility confirmation, service availability, construction status, and appointment scheduling. Citynet will contact you when your address is ready to schedule.
- Can I use the internet for the entire household? Yes. The service can be used by members of the household for schoolwork, work, communication, entertainment, and other everyday online activities.
- Will Citynet need access to my home for installation? Yes. An adult will need to be present during the scheduled installation appointment so a Citynet technician can install and test the necessary equipment.
- How long will installation take? Installation times vary depending on the home and the work required. Citynet will provide additional information when your installation appointment is scheduled.
- Can I choose where the WiFi equipment is installed? Your Citynet technician will work with you to identify an appropriate location for the equipment based on your home’s layout, WiFi coverage needs, and installation requirements.
- What if I miss my installation appointment? Please contact Citynet as soon as possible to reschedule. Missing an appointment may delay the installation of your service.
- Who provides technical support? Participating households will receive the same great technical support available to all Citynet customers. Our West Virginia-based support team is available 24 hours a day, every day, right from Citynet headquarters in Bridgeport, West Virginia. - When does the free service begin?
Free service will begin after eligibility is confirmed, Citynet service is available at the address, and installation is complete. - When does the free service end?

No. Your household will not automatically be enrolled in a paid Citynet internet plan or begin receiving charges when the free service period ends. You may choose whether you would like to continue with a paid Citynet plan. - Will families be offered the option to continue Citynet service?
Yes. Before the free service period ends, families will receive information about available Citynet internet plans and options for staying connected. Each household can decide whether to continue service with a paid Citynet plan. No changes or charges will occur unless the household chooses and authorizes a new plan. - Will I need to return the equipment if I do not continue service?
Yes. If you choose not to continue Citynet service after the free service period ends, Citynet-provided equipment will need to be returned. Families will receive instructions in advance about how and when to return the equipment. - Could the program be extended?
